About Me

My name is Jadyn George and I am a junior at Wesleyan University pursing Computer Science. To present the day, the classes I have taken for this major has opened my mind to the plethora of fields that I can possibly pursue as a career. My interests lie in cybersecurity, software engineering, and designs. I believe pursing opportunities that can challenge my skillset and introduce me to knew concepts is worth pursuing. I’ve tried the FinTech sector at BlackRock, the media sector at NBC and research here at Wesleyan.

I attribute my determination, commitment, time-management and leadership skills to the years I have spent balancing the life of an athlete and student. Volunteering to teach kids and my peers the life skill of swimming is another passion of mine. It is through volunteering that I learnt the meaning of serving my community and improving society, no matter how small my actions are. Aside from these activities, I am also a student worker at Olin and ResLife. There is constant learning, laughter and collaboration in these spaces and it is those traits that push me to put my best foot forward at every shift.

My career goals and expectations are constantly altered and built upon with every new experience. Now that I am a Junior, I will admit that the idea of the real world approaching is quite scary. However, I will not ignore the countless streams of resources available to me on and off-campus. I know that it is completely normal to feel like the world wants to swallow you whole but with decisive planning, self-encouragement and persistence, I know I can succeed. My interests at the moment lie in cybersecurity, frontend development, and fintech. All three sectors have their similarities and differences and I look forward to using this academic year to learn more about them.
